Giant Sleepover
On the night of Saturday 14 June 2008, over 100 Brownies and Guides from Girlguiding March District took part in the Save the Children Giant Sleepover to have LOTS OF FUN. The event happened in various church and village halls throughout the District. We're also hoping to break the 2006 Guinness World Record for the 'biggest simultaneous sleepover across multiple locations'. During the evening the girls had to get a minimum of 5 hours sleep as well as taking part in a variety of games and activities and receiving their all important Goodie Bags. The March event was co-ordinated by Brownie Guider Susan Southwell, who commented “The girls had such enormous fun making guiding friends with other girls from across the district. By supporting this event with Save the Children the girls have had the opportunity to think of others in different parts of the world and particularly those in Myanmar (Burma) whose homes were destroyed by Cyclone Nargis.”
